Active Shooter Preparedness

No one wants to think about an active shooter event — but the people most likely to survive one are the people who decided, in advance, what they would do. This course gives your team that preparation: a calm, practical, two-hour foundation built on the federal Run, Hide, Fight standard developed by law enforcement.

The goal is simple — to replace panic with a plan. You'll learn the three core responses and when each applies: Run (evacuate when you safely can), Hide (secure yourself when evacuation isn't possible), and Fight (act to protect your life as a last resort, when life is in imminent danger). You'll learn how to make those decisions fast, under stress, when seconds matter.

The course also covers what happens before and after the critical moments: recognizing the pre-incident indicators and warning signs that can prevent an event, communicating an emergency clearly, and cooperating safely with law enforcement when they arrive — because responding officers are focused on stopping the threat, and knowing how to interact with them keeps you safer.

Delivered as a clear, respectful, two-hour group session, this training is designed to inform and empower, not to frighten. Everyone leaves with the same thing: a plan they understand, and the confidence that comes from knowing what to do.

Best for: any organization that wants its people prepared — federal agencies, contractors, private employers, and state, local, and tribal organizations. No prior training required; this course is built for everyone in the workplace, from frontline staff to leadership.

Format: 2-hour group training. In person or virtual.

Pricing is set per engagement. Contact Phoenix Canyon to request a quote.
