CON 1400, the fourth and final required course in the FAC-C (federal civilian) contracting certification series, covers the post-award phase — everything that happens after the award. Delivered under Phoenix Canyon's DAU-Equivalent Provider status, this course picks up where CON 1300 leaves off, from contract kickoff to closeout.
In this course you will learn how to plan for and transition into contract administration, manage contract performance, and ensure the government gets exactly what they bargained for. You will work through contract payment, files, and funds management; quality assurance, including inspection, acceptance, and the warning signs of performance slippage (and fraud); and how to document everything along the way, including the proper usage of CPARS. You will learn how to handle changes and modifications during performance, and how to work through contract interpretation disputes, claims, and terminations. Finally, you will learn how to properly close out a contract. Perhaps the most valuable part of the curriculum though, is a consistent presentation of business case studies, lessons learned, and best practices woven in throughout the course.
Best for: entry-level 1102s and contracting staff pursuing FAC-C certification, and other acquisition personnel who could benefit from a thorough understanding of post-award mechanics.
Whether you take it for certification or not — this is a great way to earn CLPs while building genuinely valuable, immediately usable contracting skills. Solid knowledge, real CLP credit, and practical tools and information to make you better at your job.
Format: 7 days / 56 CLPs. Classroom or virtual.
Pricing is set per engagement. Contact Phoenix Canyon to request a quote.
